As a family, we love to travel and see new places. My husband and I prioritize making memories with our children for them to cherish for a lifetime. Before marriage, I graduated from Saint Mary of-the-Woods College as well as Ivy Tech Community College. I have over 10 years’ experience in the medical field, but my passion has always been teaching. Interesting Facts:
I am proud to be a member of Eastside Christian Academy. What an opportunity to serve the community of Terre Haute! In Acts 2, it speaks of God pouring out His Spirit in the last days and I desire to be a part of this move. I believe God is moving on our young people in these crazy, chaotic times. We are called to teach and disciple young people to reach this generation. I feel at Eastside we are doing just this.
I enjoy teaching because it covers a wide variety of academic disciplines. I enjoy learning new things with my students about the world God created. Over the past 30 years, I have worked in both private and public schools, tutored, worked in the church in children’s ministries and in diverse communities. An American inventor by the name of John Hammond sums up the most important thing we need to teach our children each day, “Character is the real foundation of all worthwhile success in life”.
I have been married for over 25 years to my amazing husband Brett. I have been blessed with four amazing sons-Nathan, Sam, Ben, and Isaac. Our family pets include a snake and a painted turtle. Kayaking, scrapbooking, tutoring, family time, art, reading, and long walks with my husband fill my summer days. Our dream is to do some short-term mission work abroad over the next few years.

I am from Terre Haute and have lived here my whole life. I started teaching a combined
class of 2 nd and 3 rd grade at ECA in 2023. I look forward to many more years teaching at this great faith-based school. I enjoy incorporating art projects in our weekly curriculum.
Outside of school, I am a mother and wife. My husband and I have 4 crazy and wonderful children. Their ages range from 11 to 2. My two girls are 7 years apart and have the same birthday. They attend ECA and love it.
I am also a photographer. I have my own photography business (Hillary Pair Photography). My favorite type of photography to capture is children’s photography. I especially love using my skills to create imaginative portraits from a child’s imagination.
I love working at Eastside because I can help children learn and grow closer to God. It also helps me grow closer to Him!

John Simmons

I was born in South Georgia but I was raised in Terre Haute. I graduated from Terre Haute South Vigo High School and from Indiana State University with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology Education.

I have been an Educator in Indiana, Alabama, Florida, & Illinois. I have been an instructor at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center in Huntsville, AL, as well as, with offenders at Vigo County Community Corrections. I have experienced small schools like North Central Jr/Sr High School (225) in Farmersburg, IN and large schools Like St Pete High School (6000) in St Petersburg, FL.

In all of my experiences in education I have learned that the location might change, however students remain the same. Students want to be respected, loved, & encouraged. I strive each day to be a light in a dark world & show the love of Jesus to these young peoples. John 6.12 “Gather the leftovers so that nothing is lost” I see this verse like this. . . help each other pick up their broken pieces and put them back together so they might be made whole.
Having the opportunity to serve Eastside as your History teacher is an honor. Thank you for allowing me to be your student's teacher.
